Jerome August Scherer, oldest son of August and Elisabeth with his wife, the former Louise Witzel and their children, Hildegard and Hermigild, taken about 1898. Jerome was a jeweler who started his own business, which Hermigild later took over. Scherer Jewelers in now run by Jerome's great grandsons.
