Albert Joseph Scherer, son of Augustus Scherer and Elisabeth (Hensgen) Scherer, was born in Buffalo New York, May 12, 1863. Albert was Christened on May 17, 1863 at St. Michael's in Buffalo.
Albert married Anna Maria Bechtold who was born on October 30, 1866 and Christened at St. Boniface. Anna was the daughter of Michael Bechtold and Louisa (Brunner) Bechtold. Albert and Anna were married in St. Michael's Catholic Church June 13, 1888 by Rev. Leo Osterrath.
Albert worked as a
Jeweler for King & Eisele, while Anna raised their 7 children. Sadly baby Albert Matthias died at three years of age.
Albert contracted pneumonia in the winter of 1921. It was believed that fresh air from open windows would improve his condition. Albert died 28 January 1921.
Anna became the matriarch of her family living to see her children and grandchildren. Anna died 4 August 1951. |
